About the Event
This powerful documentary sheds light on the terrifying experience of a young Black wife and mother in 1944 Alabama—a brutal attack by six white men who were never prosecuted. The film is a tribute to her immense bravery in speaking the truth during the height of the Jim Crow South.
It compellingly features Rosa Parks' investigation on behalf of the NAACP, and directly addresses the systemic erasure of Black women's stories. By exposing this insidious weapon of systemic racism, the film calls on all of us to recognize our obligation to find the courage necessary to pursue and speak the truth in the ongoing fight for justice.
Discussion to Follow: The film screening will be immediately followed by a facilitated discussion to process the issues raised and explore local steps toward justice.
Dinner Included: A free dinner will be provided for all attendees.
Donations Welcome: While the event is free, donations are welcome but not required to…
