A Night of Unity at "A Civic Table: Waco Uniting"
On July 22, 2025 the Waco community came together for an unforgettable evening of food, fellowship, and crucial conversation at A Civic Table: Waco Uniting. Held at the welcoming St. Alban's Episcopal Church, the event was a powerful testament to our community’s commitment to progress and understanding.
The air was filled with lively discussion and shared meals, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere. We were incredibly honored to have a panel of distinguished community leaders who shared their insights and expertise. A huge thank you to Dr. Petra Constable from Waco Family Medicine, Jeremy Davis from Mentor Waco, Analí Gatlin Looper from American Gateways, and Waco Police Chief Sheryl Jefferson Victorian for participating. Their contributions sparked a truly vibrant and meaningful dialogue.
The conversation centered on a vital topic: the intersection of race and community in Waco. The panelists and attendees engaged in a frank and productive discussion about what our city is currently doing well and, just as importantly, what we need to be doing to move forward. The community feedback provided was invaluable and will undoubtedly help shape future efforts to foster a more inclusive and equitable Waco.
Events like "A Civic Table" are essential for building stronger, more connected communities. They provide a safe space for open dialogue, allowing us to listen to one another, learn from different perspectives, and work together towards common goals.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and made the night such a success. Your presence and participation are what make these conversations possible. We look forward to more opportunities to unite and build a better future for all of Waco.
